Visualisations can be listed under 3 categories, which each split into smaller ones but I won't cover that. Graphic Notation -pictures/symbols/illustrations -a language that represents musical notes Graphic Interpretation -album covers -marketing techniques -font/typeface developed from sounds -the meaning behind the song Graphic Experimentation -elements of the piece of music can be exaggerated -timed motion -physical prints/painting  James's seminar went over alot of the work he did while at university for visualisation of sound, one piece hit me specifically as being really innovative and awesome, here it is;

Photoshop Week 1

The first photoshop session was covering the basics on image adjustment and raw images, we played around with adjusting the RGB ratios and applying monochromatic effects. We moved onto various tools and all in all I felt that my skills in photoshop that were beginning to rust have definitelty been re-honed.

After Effects Week 3

The third video made in Process and Production After Effects workshops. Working with more advanced keyframing tools to create an active typeface. This workshop was definitely my gateway into understanding After Effects, I learned alot about smoothing out keyframes and making motions fluid and how to exaggerate movements when they are fast so that they are still visible.
