Visualisation of Sound

In recent lectures, coinciding with the current studio project, we have been looking into visualisations of sound. Visualisations can be listed under 3 categories, which each split into smaller ones but I won't cover that.

Graphic Notation
-pictures/symbols/illustrations
-a language that represents musical notes

Graphic Interpretation
-album covers
-marketing techniques
-font/typeface developed from sounds
-the meaning behind the song

Graphic Experimentation
-elements of the piece of music can be exaggerated
-timed motion
-physical prints/painting
